What makes a good teacher in arts, specifically in type an typography? How can you teach freedom in an area that is dominated by a lot of rules?
Now, after a few workshops I did, I am sure there is a way. It has not much to do with being talented. It is the amount of time you spend with something and keep the motivation to start and go on with a project in a selfconfident way.
The main area I am teaching in workshops is »Designing Logotypes«. The ability to not only use existing fonts but design your own characters for a typografic brandmark. Not every graphic designer needs to be a type designer, but all of them need to be able to design a logotype.
Sure there are quite some basics to learn, but you have to learn to deal with rules
