In the early days of Leaf it was quite a experimental project with the aim to violate the strict rules of harmony in typography. As it grew older and more mature it lost many rebellious parts to be able to work as a copy typeface. There are still some elements left, now I see as part of a strong character. Some people might hate it and some will love it. It is a serif with classic proportions and basically with a classic stroke, but horizontally skiped in some elements.

You might not expect that but Leaf works fairly well in small sizes. That was the reason, why there is a classic set of small caps in the family.

As well as a great range of weights from Light to Ultrabold.
